Coffee Cups, Sleeves & Lids – Recyclable or Garbage?

As of 2016 the City of Calgary changed the recycling options expanded recycling to coffee sleeves and cups. Unfortunately the coffee cup lids are too light and blow around within the recycling processing plant and are unable to be properly recycled.
Coffee Lids: Put coffee cup lids in the garbage.Even if they have a recycling symbol on it, the lids are too small and light to be sorted properly at the Calgary recycling facility.

Kirkland dish soap is available for purchase directly at Costco or on Amazon (affiliate link) Product claims: Eco Friendly Liquid Dish Soap Citrus Scent Tough on grease, yet gentle on your hands and the environment. Biodegradable cleaning agent. Plant based formula. Made from bio-renewable resources. Contains no phosphates or dyes. Mild on skin. Natural fragrance. Safe for septic systems. Pros:   The cost is reasonable for the volume, scent is very subtle, it is biodegradable and cruelty free. Cons: Low suds value, took quite a lot of soap to make enough suds to wash dishes, suds dissipated quickly and was not long lasting, needed to add more soap half way through dinner dishes.
